We used yorkshire canine academy for our border collie who would pull when walking, ignore instructions and be a nightmare around other dogs and people. elisha has helped train sid with his outbursts and ourselves in handling his behaviour from the get go and she has been incredible. we have a seen a huge improvement in sid to the point we joined in a group class we other dogs and owners which is something we never thought possible
I've recommended yca to so many people. i thought i was fully prepared when i got scout as a puppy, i had done so much research! i booked him in for an assessment super early to give him the best start in life and make sure i was doing everything right. scout attended three puppy development days at yca and we had five 121 sessions with ian. despite all my research, i quickly realised i had so much to learn. ian was amazing and i always felt encouraged and supported even when i wasn't doing something quite right. i always knew the context and reasoning behind the way we were approaching the training which helped massively and i honestly looked forward to every session. scout is still only young so is always learning and we have a way to go - but i'll be taking full advantage of yca's services throughout this journey because they've been worth every penny!
Having tried numerous online classes, videos, a different trainer all to no avail we contacted yorkshire canine academy as we were at our wits end with our doberman’s reactivity and pulling on the lead. right from the start with our initial consultation with dan he took the time to listen to us and really understand the issues we were having with ceb. during the 7day kickstarter we received daily updates from the trainers each time we collected ceb. after the course jacob talked us through everything and made sure we were fully aware and clear on how the continue the training at home. each session we progressed to the next step. by trusting in the process and following instructions and guidance given we now have a dog whom we can really enjoy and walk. we no longer have to divert or hide in bushes to avoid other dogs and ceb now walks beautifully to heel, we have turned a corner we felt we would never reach. i could not recommend yca enough to anyone who is having difficulty or issues with there dogs. they are genuinely nice people who care about what they do and are exceptional at it!
I cannot recommend yorkshire canine academy enough! we booked an assessment for our labrador, mabel, where ian went through all of the issues we had been having and what we were looking to achieve with them. we went for the 12 week 1-2-1 training with ian and wish we had done it so much earlier! he’s so knowledgable and helps train you as well as your dog so that you can continue in your own time. not once were we made to feel bad for any behavioural problems or set backs along the course; it’s hard work but totally worth it when you receive comments about how well-behaved your dog is! we are going to carry on with classes as mabel really enjoys herself and we are enjoying learning and training with her. go ahead and book, i promise you won’t be disappointed 🐶
We have just completed 6 weeks of puppy classes with our cockapoo daisy. we were given lots of practical advice to take away and practise at home between the classes so we could come back the following week and build on what we’d already done. this meant that we saw daisy make huge progress in areas like recall, lead walking and place training and i definitely now feel more confident as a first time dog owner. i know that we have given daisy the best start possible, with the expert training from jacob and madi. they are so knowledgeable, patient and clear and also they are flexible enough to help you to adapt techniques to fit your dog due to their wealth of experience. i would recommend anyone getting a new puppy to get booked onto the puppy classes.
