Premier Inn Leeds City Centre (Whitehall Road) hotel

Booked for an overnight stay as part of my job escorting international nurses for their OSCE exams. Came on a Friday afternoon. Check in by my colleague was quick and straightforward albeit having 16 people to check in. Keycards were provided at the ready, and staff were more than happy to welcome us and assist with whatever. The reception hall was large enough, having enough seating areas, vending machines, and bag check room. On the opposite side of the hall was where the restaurant/breakfast area was located. Being a big hotel, it was quite busy when we came, and although there was a lot of activity, the area did not seem cramped. There are 2 lifts for guests to use with card access - as well as the door to the stairwell. I was given room 205. When I got there, I could easily smell that the room was clean. The bed was spacious, and bathroom, impeccable. Airconditioning was great - although - I wasn't sure if it turned itself on and off depending on the room's temperature. Mine seemed to work fine and then it seemed to shut down in the middle of the night, and turn itself on again about 6AMish. But, it wasn't a deal breaker for me. There was a nice sized wardrobe with drawer and hangers so that I could easily stow away my clothes and belongings. I liked that there was a tiny (but mighty) hair dryer prepared in its little nook. (I always tend to panic when I don't see one visible 😅) Breakfast was included in our room booking, and there was a hugeeee selection of hot and cold items. When we got down in the morning, we waited to be seated, and then we were advised to "go crazy!" (which we did! 🤣) I especially loved their cumberland sausages! Location-wise I think it's really accessible as its just a short walk from the train station. There's a Sainsbury's nearby, and some pubs and coffeeshops too, if you don't fancy a walk into the city centre. Staff are big on security - as they reallllly don't allow you access when you don't have a keycard 😅 - they had to personally verify with my colleague if I really was with her - when my phone ran out of battery and I couldn't contact her. I guess it was a nuisance at that moment for me, but I get what they were trying to implement. Great stuff! Only thing I could complain of is the free wifi - not really stable past level 2. But I guess that's why it's free? Would want to come back again, hopefully for leisure the next time!

The discounted car park supposedly linked with the hotel doesn't exist any longer, which made life difficult at the start of the stay. Also only one set off towels in the room which is plain cheap (should we really have to be asking for a second?). Staff were great and very helpful.

Great location, 5 minutes from the train station and in the city centre. Also close to the canal to enjoy some quieter walks. The premier plus bedroom was very spacious, the bed incredibly comfortable and the bathroom clean and nice. The shower had great pressure and it was new. Nice desk and chair to work, in case needed, even though you need to pay extra for the premium WiFi that annoyingly disconnects. It comes with an iron and ironing table, as well as, a coffee machine.

An excellent stay, the room was great and reasonably priced. Excellent facilities and extras provided. The staff were friendly and helpful, particularly Joseph who helped us with early check in, will definitely be back next time I’m in Leeds

Joseph is the best hotel manager I have ever met he managed what could've been a difficult situation with ease and treated me with so much consideration and kindness. Joseph is a true professional and an inspiration to his team. Beautiful Katrina was the sweetest waitress who clearly enjoys her role being part of the team. Nowadays it's rare to meet happy, positive professionals who provide service with a smile, but this young lady really added to my experience. I watched her genuinely engage and positively interact with all guests who she left with a smile. I had the best night and highly recommend this hotel., this was easily the best Premier Inn that I have experienced. Keep up the high standards your all doing an exceptional job, well done guys.
