Leeds City Museum

Good place to visit. Not too big but is good, have an interesting Egyptian Collection that includes a 3000 years mommy.

I dropped in after taking my granddaughter and Niece for a meal on leeds, the girls loved it, staff who greeted us were so friendly and welcoming, they looked at the displays, dressed up and did some colouring all for free, fantastic visit.

There was a range of things to see, ancient, and modern day. Parts I found most enjoyable were the pieces relating to Nesyamun, their collection of Natural History pieces, and the Overlooked People of Leeds section. Though I don't have children myself, I was impressed by the amount of children's activities there were throughout the museum, plenty to interact with, and a decent mini play area section. Their gift shop has a broad selection to soon a range of people.

I always visit a museum on my Travels. I came to Leeds on a sunny June Sunday to perform at an afternoon Piano concert at Clothworkers. Popped in here in the morning and was lucky to find the last day of an LGBT music exhibition on the 3rd Floor. I was delighted to learn about the composer Angela Morley amongst other things. The building is beautiful and worth a visit as they have different exhibitions. Always something to learn. Expertly researched and exhibited themes with friendly knowledgeable staff willing to chat and help.

Definitely one of the places one must visit in Leeds. Lots of exhibits to educate people about the history of Leeds. Best part was that the entry fee was free. I would suggest getting to the museum early to see everything as it closes at 5 PM.
