Leeds Water Taxi

Great fun when we used the boat to get back in to town from the royal armouries. A very enjoyable ride which the kids loved. The captain was a friendly guy who told us a few stories along the way too. Took about 10 mins and was £2 pp

Would be great for people coming off the train to go to the royal armouries. We took the water taxi to go to the museum. It was perfect! Took us straight there in less than 15 mins and for only £1!!!!! Also it’s really nice to see Leeds from a different angle. I’ll be using this service again especially to explore Leeds down by the docks.

My 6 year old was absolutely thrilled with this! Lived in Leeds my whole life and never been on the water taxi before! We took the taxi after visiting the Royal Armouries as it’s justoutside! The taxis hold 12 people on each and takes about 12 minutes to get the train station dock so be prepared to queue on busy days. We queued for nearly an hour to get on as my little boy was adamant we had to ride, in the blistering heat and no shade it was not the best ! All worth it when you board of course and the smiles from my little boy made it all worth it !

Great to use the water taxi, super easy hop onboard tap as cashless payment so simple, not a time schedule as such but usually one at either end or maybe a 5-10 minute wait while on route. Thank you.

The Water Taxi is a great way to explore Leeds's waterfront heritage. The city was formerly a major inland port, and a meeting place of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal (and the Irish Sea) and the Aire & Calder Navigation out to the North Sea. Many of the historic buildings and structures still remain. The Water Taxi runs between Canal Wharf (Granary Wharf) and Leeds Docks, daily 10am-6pm; there's no set timetable. The journey takes around 10 minutes. The fare is currently £2, one way; contactless payment only, pay onboard.
