The London Carriage Works

Fine dining = small portions. Nice presentation, but main meal was really tiny. Lamb a bit tough too. Had to send the bill back on numerous occasions.

Food is good, yet ambition in the kitchen does not meet reality in front of house and service- the London Carriage Works presents itself as a fine dining restaurant yet there is a clear discrepancy with service levels offer vs its pairs in Liverpool & GB. Even on a not busy at all Monday, waiting was very long and attention to details quite low (no one asking to take away jackets at entrance or when sitting, waiting long for anything from order taking to food delivery to the table to bill delivery). This is a real pity as you can clearly perceive that kitchen is full of ambition and aspiring to greater recognition. Improving service will certainly enable better outcomes for the restaurant.

Excellent Hotel. Rooms are spacious and so clean. Massive bathroom. No mini bar in our room but not needed as a one just below on the ground floor. Prices are fair and atmosphere is great. Friendly and polite staff. Will definitely be coming back here. No parking on premises but nearby parking available. Would recommend Liverpool cathedral as it’s attended with cameras everywhere. Closed car park available but not as secure.

Exceptional food and service. Dinned here for dinner as a couple and their new menu is truly amazing. I couldn’t tell you what my favourite dishes were because both me and my partner enjoyed every dish and every bite. I really loved the little breads and butter to begin with and every plate after that was presented beautifully. The strawberry dessert topped everything off. Highly recommend and would definitely be back.
