Bowring Park and Golf Course

Played in their open on Sunday. We played off the whites and I found it hard work but in a nice way. I worked hard for pars and bogeys. The greens looked nice and quick but I struggled get to the hole. Made some good putts. Couple of errors for double bogey and no lost balls. The rain was expected but never came. It's easy go out of bounds on the first and the spotters helped out with green or red flag, saves going back. We tried catch up to those in front and were never bothered by those behind. On each tee hole was clear. It is a muni and the tees weren't as good but greenside it looked well. 14 and particularly 17 good looking holes. The committee provided local rules to take into account some of the conditions out there. It looked like they had made a big effort to get the course right on the day, big thanks to them. The event was well run and the new bar area with food available was welcomed after the game. The refurbished clubhouse was clean and tidy and staff polite and friendly. Perhaps they could have provided more of a specials deal for the visitors and that might encourage more to stay.

Lovely setting and a great place to chill out on a sunny day. Indoor or outdoor seating. Not a huge range of draught ales as the bar area is small but they were good and the staff were lovely.

The course is in beautiful condition the greens are the best they have been in and with the new bar & food it's the best around

Amazing place for all. It's a golf club with beautiful views. Their is a park with children's play area and the game Footgolf just take a football with you and kick it into the Flag holes. Beautiful gardens to sit and enjoy the flowers 💐 and I really nice cafe and club house. Dog walking allowed you will have to check with staff which areas you can walk your dog 🐕 😉 😀

Absolutely loved this hidden gem. Great place to walk the dog, although golfing season hasn't started yet 😁. Such lovely grounds, got me thinking I might take up golf 🤔. Gorgeous coffee shop/bar called the Coach House. Highly recommend the hot chocolate and pastries ❤️
