Wow, the best sushi and tempura place I’ve tried in Liverpool! From entering and being welcomed by a friendly host, sitting area is great for both individual and group reservations. Interior and tables: I sat at the bar as I was alone. Very comfortable chairs, clean and doesn’t smell. Attention to detail at the table was the first thing that caught my eye - you have a lovely little soy sauce pot with two small plates instead of a store-bought bottle, as well as cute salt jar with pink salt instead of the common salt shaker. Food: generous portions! I had eel maki, karaage chicken and tofu ramen. 6 small pieces of maki, super tasty and filling. You can taste the fresh ingredients. Karaage chicken was very hot, I’d wait a minute before I bite into it. Non the less delicious, I’d probably add some more sauce to it as it was very tasty. I was full by the time the ramen arrived as the portions were quite big. I wasn’t a fan of the tofu ramen - the bartered vegetables (sweet potato, courgette & okra) were properly cooked but the batter became soggy as it was soaking in the broth and it became like a purée instead of a broth as it mixed. It was lacking this umami taste - no salt, no seasoning, even though they added chilli it didn’t come through. The noodles were quite a generous portion, maybe a bit too much compared to the broth and the size of the veggies. Overall great experience, I’d definitely recommend and would come back. Sushi and street food id say are their strongest on the menu from my experience. Great value and portion size for money.
