I cannot find enough words of praise for Nigel. I have been stressed out for 3 years with my Cavapoo who gets anxious when on busy streets and on crossing busy roads. She is otherwise very calm and well behaved. I had previously tried other training and behaviour methods and was getting nowhere. Thankfully I found Nigel online and as soon as I watched his videos I was confident that he would understand and be able to help. He came to train my dog on Saturday and within the 3-4 hours of the visit I understood where I was going wrong. We have been practising all week and she is like a different dog. No longer freaking out in the traffic and walking beautifully on a loose lead. Everyone should go to Nigel he really knows what he is talking about and how to get a great working relationship between human and dog.

Nigel was an incredible help for my new puppy Manuka. As a new dog owner, I was hesitant about the right thing to do and Nigel made this incredibly easy, and now 2 years later Manuka such a lovely dog, of amazing character, and behaves so so well! The best part is that he's always around to chat to.

We couldn’t recommend Nigel enough. We have a 4yo french bulldog who was struggling with visitors in our house and it had come to quite a head when we contacted Nigel. He was quick to respond to our needs and helped organise a session asap. Our first session with him was thorough & supportive. We felt not only that he listened carefully to our situation but that he was a true expert in this field. His methods made sense, he was clear about how we could help our pup & what she needed from us. We found a very instant change in her behaviour following this session. We continued with Nigel’s training recommendations and have seen a great improvement as well as feeling much more in control and equipped to deal with things in a constructive way. We’ve since had a follow-up session with Nigel for additional issues and it has been a great success again. We feel lucky we found his support when we did!

We discovered Nigel through his book The Dog Guardian and he is undoubtedly in a league of his own when it comes to achieving permanent positive behavioural change. Our highly spirited teenage retriever hit a rough patch which included him bullying our shy cat, barking and rampaging around the garden and to boot he had separation anxiety post lockdown. Nigel's empathy, knowledge and calming approach was just incredible and within a very short time of putting his change management plan into place, we saw a huge improvement. Cat and dog are now chums, there is no more garden guarding and gone is the hysteria when we walk out the front door. I cannot recommend Nigel enough.

Nigel came to our house for a puppy consultation for our new Bull Terrier, Petra. In the couple of hours he spent with us he gave us a new perspective on our relationships with dogs (both my wife and I have always had dogs growing up and considered ourselves reasonably knowledgeable - oops!) and helped us figure out a clear path ahead. I particularly liked that Nigel teaches principles as well as specifics - as much the “why” as the “what” and “how”. This has enabled us to work through a lot of questions on our own rather than having to refer to him for every question. We tend to think “WWND?” (What would Nigel do?) in these situations and by relying on the principles from the visit and his book, we feel confident about the way forward. Nigel is in the business of creating good, self-sufficient relationships between owners and their dogs, not of creating owners dependent on him (although as below, he is always available for chats when necessary). Since the visit, Nigel has been available over the phone at the drop of a hat whenever we have had burning questions to ask him. His manner is always friendly and reassuring (the latter always being important for people trying to work with seemingly difficult pups) and he is generous with his time and knowledge. As mentioned, we went for a consultation, which included a copy of Nigel’s excellent resource book The Dog Guardian and free lifetime support over the phone. We are extremely happy with Nigel’s services and are looking to engage him for my parents as well. We would highly recommend him!
