Some good, some bad. played duke's on a warm wednesday night. course busy, as always the case here, but we got round quickly, mainly thanks to groups in front of us playing at a good pace. course in reasonable condition, particularly fairways. however, the cups aren't properly cut out on pretty much every green. they place a plastic sort of cylinder around the rim of the cup - a few times this caused the ball to hilariously veer/lip out. that's just not golf. why go through the hassle of upkeeping the rest of the course (not the bunkers mind you), only to ruin the holes. quick tip - you can remove the plastic cylinder easily, making the cup normal. wish the bar stayed open later too - it is a lovely setup for a drink/food
I can’t comment on the golf course, but we held my grandmothers wake at the venue a few weeks ago as she was a keen golfer and it seemed fitting to have it there. the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating, they made a hard day a lot easier. the food was lovely and they were all so attentive making sure we had everything we could possibly need. thanks andy and co, much appreciated.
I just had the most special fathers day playing on princes course with my 10 year old son. we both started practicing on the range as absolute beginners a few months ago. we had a few lessons with gary and now we are both really enjoying a full round of golf together. ⛳️ the whole club is child friendly, accessible, non-elitest, no snooty rules, no dress codes, open to non-members, pay to play. it’s just great fun for people who want to enjoy golf without feeling like they are “not good enough”. which sadly is not the case in most other golf clubs in the area. well done glendale! 👏 keep up the great work
I have now been to this golf course for a few years but am feeling to be more and more frustrated. basically, they have recently increased their prices from £28 a session to £38 but, rather than improving the quality of the course, it is rather decreasing. there were massive amounts of dry chunks of grass left 10m away from the greens and, to be fair, it is not like the holes are all amazingly set. of course, for £28, you feel that it is fair and you get an ok value for money but, with costs increasing, duck/goose poos all over the course and pieces of dry grass, you start to feel the frustration and possible desire to go elsewhere. the location is convenient, reception area is ok, drinks not too expensive and i know that i am going to receive a response form the owner saying "everything is great and other clients are happy" but, i would rather not continue down that road if i was them and from my side, i think that i am going to look elsewhere from now on.
