Chisou Sushi and Izakaya

Always a good experience here, it's one of my favourite Japanese restaurants (that doesn't charge the highest prices!). I've come here for dates, team meals. Lunch or dinner (they do good lunch sets at good value). I've sat at the counter before which is quite fun for 2/3 people to watch the food being prepared. I recently went on my own on a Friday evening after a late working day (walk in). Restaurant was fully booked except outdoor. The outdoor seating has heating and they offer blankets! Service still good although as they were busy I had to wait a bit to get my bill. Food: Sashimi always good quality and nice thick cuts. Really delicious!!! Especially my most recent visit on a Friday evening. Nigiri - neatly and nicely prepared. Will continue to visit again and again 😁

Great spot for a lunch (or dinner). Third time there. Was early so it started quiet then got busy (on a Monday). Food is high quality. Great prep and fabulous to have a native Japanese speaker on service. Will return. Made a video for fun!!

Warm and happy. We came here for my partner’s bday and the staff was so warm and welcoming. They gave us a beautiful private table and they cuddle us for tall dinner. The atmosphere was great, topical of a Japanese tavern, and the place was quite busy to be a Tuesday ev The food is excellent. The combinations of flavours and the simplicity of the ingredients make each dish special. We loved every bite! They have a good choice of wines and an even better choice of sake. We went for what our waiter suggested, as we are not experts, and it was perfect to close the dinner and have it with the dessert. On a very lovely note, without me even asking, they brought us the dessert with candles a decoration! A great experience, great staff and excellent food. We’ll come back for sure!

Came for dinner and the food was great. Really fresh sashimi. Sushi rolls were tasty. All the dishes were flavoured well and really balanced. Service was also very good and friendly. I recommend you book as it was busy on a Tuesday night and there were even people waiting for tables. They also have outdoor seating with heating.
