Cornerstone Church Newcastle

Great place to come and be part of a Christian community of people who love Jesus and love others. The leaders are great men of God who do an awesome job in sharing Gods word with us and growing us spiritually. I would definitely recommend this Church to everyone out there who wants to be loved by an awesome bunch of people!

Cornerstone is wonderful! I went there for several years while and after I was a student in Newcastle - such a welcoming and Christ centred church! The church is made up of people from all ages and backgrounds, the worship is lively but centred on God and his character rather than people's emotions, the teaching is heavily rooted in the Bible as well as being personally challenging, there is excellent provision and teaching for kids and teens (everything is DBS-ed and very shipshape), and there is a strong emphasis on community and fellowship. I would recommend Cornerstone to anyone, regardless of church background, and particularly if you've never been keen on church or God before! Never have I found such a friendly and generous family of ordinary people who want to know Jesus better and share the good news found in the Bible with others!

I've been coming here for about 7 years. When I first came I was just visiting as a friend went. I always found the church to be very warm it's in welcome even to people who wouldn't call themselves Christian, such as myself when I first started coming along. The focused teaching, worship and community have been what has really grown me over the years. The church is predominately a mix of young families, young professionals and students with a lot of young kids and a growing number of youth. In terms of theology it's probably best described as mainstream evangelical and cooperates with a large number of other local churches, whilst also having significant national and international connections.

I have attended this church for 5 years. I have learned a lot through the teaching and the worship is totally Christ focused. I'm happy to call this my spiritual home, and still remember the welcome I received from Mike and Es my first Sunday there. The genuine, honest atmosphere is another thing that has kept me here. There's plenty of opportunities to serve, and lots of small groups which meet throughout the city. See for yourself.
