Really enjoyed their two course deal (sunday-thursday 5-7pm, starter and main for £14). the service was really quick, and the food was excellent. great portion sizes too - we almost couldn’t finish it all!
A very pleasant surprise! when i decided to eat at kafeneon i only wanted to have some greek food. but i'm happy to say that i found instead a lovely food experience. i ordered spanokopita (simply delicious and fresh), moussaka (absolutely gorgeous) and a mouth-watering baklava with ice cream. everything was made even better by a quick and responsive service and a chilled atmosphere. what to add?! i'm looking forward to coming back
- great service. - affordable food. - reservation recommended. - tavern feel. - gyros needs more sauce. - halloumi squeaky. - pita and dips alright. - chip shop chips.
Wow! best greek i’ve been too! portions were fab, food quality was intense, atmosphere was brilliant. enormous selection of cocktails and staff are super friendly and attentive! can’t wait to go back. we had greek nachos and a mezze sharing platter. incredible! thank you team
Visited for restaurant week. was very accommodating for walk-ins, staff were all extremely friendly. the decor of the restaurant is great and really captures the atmosphere you'd expect from a genuine greek taverna. the food was excellent and i'm looking forward to visiting again and trying the rest of the extensive menu full of greek classics. as mentioned it was restaurant week but the regular prices are very reasonable and the portion sizes are good. there's really no other option for greek food in newcastle.
