When our son was preparing for his GCSEs, he started having Physics tuition with Dr Lawson. After a little while, he was doing very well in Physics and really enjoying his lessons, so he started having Maths sessions as well. His GCSE marks improved a lot (by a good 2 grades in a fairly short time) and his latest school report says that he’s made huge progress and has been a star this year. Dr Lawson found out exactly what was on our son’s specific syllabus, and which areas needed more work, and he really tailored the sessions to target precisely what our son needed to be able to do. He’s also very friendly and positive, and took the time to get to know our son, and I think this makes a big difference; he knows how to explain things in an interesting way and make the lessons really enjoyable. Dr Lawson also helped him with his preparation for A-Levels, and gave him advice for coping with stress. Our son has become genuinely interested in Maths now, when he wasn’t before, and he’s keen to continue studying both Maths and Physics in the future, and to carry on having lessons with Dr Lawson.
