Caspian Restaurant Turkish Cuisine

A welcoming and pretty restaurant with an owner and staff that really care about getting it right. The owner was serving our table and was full of information, about the excellent food (the lamb shank is absolutely perfect, slow cooked and falling off the bone), the desserts, the decorations and the beers he seeks out. Highly, highly recommended.

We made a spontaneous decision to have a late lunch/early dinner here. The service was friendly in what was a small restaurant on Chillingham Road. What I ordered was not available, so I was given a few alternatives. I went for the lamb shish kebab served with Turkish rice and a salad. I must say the meat was overly salty, which made the rice a welcome accompaniment as it was quite bland, as rice should be. In the end, the bill came to over £40 which is a bit expensive. Maybe the cost of living crisis has caught up with us. Unfortunately, we are not too enthusiastic at the thought of returning.

What a wonderful experience for us all. Friendly warm welcome. Such wonderful food at a reasonable price. We found Mo such a lovely host. He couldn’t have been more helpful. Highly recommend it and will be going back there often.

I had booked for a table of six and rang 20 mins before booked time to extend to another half hour worrying that they wound be fully booked. The woman on the phone to me said no problem and on arrival the restaurant was completely empty. I was thinking oh have we made the right choice but let me tell u within half hour the place was packed and the food was superb especially the Adana it was the best Adana I have ever tasted and can’t wait to go back for more . It was for my birthday and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves .
