Mapperley Golf Club

My local club. Much less busy than Ramsdale and not as posh, but lovely people, wonderful views, awesome greens and a really challenging course that should make playing on flatter courses a doddle. Gets pretty squelchy in the winter but has tons of character and always good fun to play.

I went here for a Ladies 2 hour taster session and really enjoyed it. The clubhouse is very nice, and the lady members doing the intro sessions are passionate about what they do. I'm an absolute beginner and came away with an understanding of what golf is all about. If I had to say anything 👎it's that the course is very hilly and definitely a thigh workout. But it's a really lovely place.

We visited here on Sunday for dinner with our granddaughters. We were served by Laura who was fantastic. Laura went out of her way to cheer up one of our little girls who, due to the heat was upset. Laura went out of her way to get paper and crayons which delighted both girls. Thank you Laura for looking after our little family. The food is delicious, served with ample beautifully cooked meat, separate vegetables with a little jug of your own gravy. Homemade Yorkshire and stuffing. Definitely recommend.

Walked with husband again. Love Mapperley golf course. Lots of talk of it closing in the future by the golfers when the lease expires. A travesty.

Had my wedding reception here on 11th April 2023 and just WOW… Leanne, Carl and the rest of the team made this so special! The food was spectacular and the service was second to none… thank you so much for making my day so special! Such a wonderful setting ❤️
