Once again an incredible meal. great service and wine recommendations from ben and every dish out the kitchen was faultless. can’t wait to return.
One of nottingham’s finest restaurants. absolutely blown away each time i go. the prawn toast is just something else. highlights of last night’s visit were the prawn skewers & the pork belly. the beef skewers are a firm favourite. managed to fit a pudding in for the first time and they were sensational. i’ll be back time and time again.
We visited today for the lunch menu, as it is walk in only we were put on a waiting list and sent to bar for a cheeky wine and cocktail. the wait was approx 45mins but we waited less than half an hour! we ordered soo much food and it was all outstanding! starters we ordered miso soup which was a special, plate of pickles and edamame. all packed with amazing flavour! the mains we had were, the chicken skewers, raw salmon, beef skewers, sweetcorn fritters and 2 specials, pork belly skewers and pork with miso butter! all of this food was incredible like nothing we have had before! we had to round it off with a dessert and we chose the matcha cheesecake and amazake cherry and almond and both were devine! we weren't drinking but the drinks menu looked great! loads of japanese whisky to chose from and beers! the service was quick and friendly. the staff were very knowledgeable and chatty! i loved the decor it was simple but effective (loved all the serving plates) if i could give more than 5 i would! will definitely be returning! well worth the money and wait!
Exquisite place, food and atmosphere. the first time i ate here i was amazed that nottingham had such a beautiful restaurant in it's city centre. must haves i'd recommend are the chicken and beef skewers, salmon and tira-miso. not really much else to say other than give it a try, worth every penny! come here for a date, with family or on your own to experience true japanese cuisine. thank you to the chefs and staff for making this evening so special❤️👌🔥👏
One of the best restaurants in the midlands. second visit. menu evolves. all the plates were of excellent quality. the prawn toast remains my favourite item. the pork and kettuce is also very good. check the specials board though as these items always prove worthwhile but seasonal. good drinks also and decent service.
