First visit to the Ivy was just ok. Although the ribeye was cooked to perfection I felt the rest of the meal was pretty average for the prices they charged. I really didn't like the fact that my fries came doused in salt. However they adjusted my bill as way of an apology. Unfortunately the toilets are situated on an upper floor and awkward to get to. However overall the venue is very clean and tidy and is run by a very hard working team who did their best at a very busy time of the day. They also offer free newspapers for diners.

Lovely brunch with daughter and friends. First time going, and it was lovely. Bit swanky, but the food and service were fab. I'll keep this for special occasions in the future as a tad pricey.

Absolutely stunning art deco interior. Really beautiful, one of my favourites in the last few years and probably one of the nicest washrooms I have ever been in! Nice greeting at the door. The food was very good and comparitively, for such a nice venue in this location, reasonably priced. My only negative is that we felt rushed through the meal, I wanted to enjoy my time there and take it all in so I found the waiting staff possibly a bit too efficient. Nice post dinner cocktail at the stunning bar. Great music and ambience.

We happened to stumble across The Ivy while walking through Oxford. We had the afternoon tea and the experience was great. All the staff were well presented and very friendly. The food and drinks were great and we wouldn’t hesitate to come back again.

I visited this restaurant because it was highly rated. The atmosphere certainly didn't disappoint. It was comfortable with high ceilings and the decor was soothing. The food didn't disappoint either. The fish cake with a poached egg on top was a nice touch and you can taste the sea with each bite. It is slightly on the dry side. The baby gem lettuce was fresh and crisp but the sauce was sporadic. The souffle was outstanding in its fluffiness and it is light. Everything was quite good in this restaurant except service. Other reviews stated that the service was immaculate but I had quite an opposite experience. I was seated for at least 10-15 minutes before anyone even attended to me. There was no introduction to the menu, the waitress simply just asked if I was ready to order. I was not asked about how my dishes were until I'm already half past my main dish. In addition, the dishes were just delivered without any interaction. I was also brought a dessert menu before I was asked if I cared for dessert. Regardless, I expect a lot more from a high end restaurant but my experience may be just an isolated incident.
