Beautiful hotel ideal for business. great facilities and clean. we enjoyed the meal in the restaurant upstairs. service from every staff member we communicated with was of the utmost professionalism. i'd be happy to stay here again
I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. the environment was very relaxing and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. the food at the bar was amazing … as was the service from the bar staff! breakfast catered for every taste possible … a very lovely spread! the spa was very clean and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. the pool is small … but enough to be able to relax in. i don’t have a negative comment to make about this hotel!
We didn't stay in a room so i can't give comment on that it was nice and clean for the few hours we were there seems to have everything. only down side is be careful were you sit if you have mobility issues as the sofas in the lobby are very very low.
I had a great experience at this hotel. the gym is amazing by hotel gym standards (keeping in mind it’s a standalone gym as well). the gym is very clean and simple yet has everything you would need. the food isn’t anything special but isn’t bad by any means. the rooms were also nothing special but i spent most of my time in the oxford city centre or in the gym so that wasn’t bad. it was a simple room and had a desk which was nice. the hotel isn’t centrally located by any means but a single bus ride gets you to the centre fairly quickly an cheaply and is a lovely commute. the bus ride to the center took about 15-20 minutes and the buses themselves pass by every 10 minutes or so. on your way back from the center make sure not to miss the bus stop that's right next to the hotel (which is really convenient) as the bus stop is broken and doesn't have a sign showing which one it is. a good way to remember is that it's the first after the roundabout. the hotel is a bit fancy but not too much so. the staff is really kind. i would highly recommend it.
The refurbished hotel is very smart. the lobby welcoming and thanks i'm sure to a new ac unit, bracingly cold. and that evening was the beginning of the unseasonably hot start to september. looks perhaps could be deceiving. while on the outside the hotel oozes comfort and relaxation, i wonder if some greater oversight on the front of house staff is needed. so while overall the hotel is lovely, the below personal experience doesn't add up to the hotels perception. two of my overseas colleagues, while sharing a room for their 3 week business trip's accommodation here, have had to accept that in the entire hotel there are not 2 x single beds available even once in 3 week period, so have to instead share a double bed. not the end of the world, but two people who are work colleagues on a business trip should be afforded the comfort of at least their own bed. the pictures, taken from the lobby (not long before the staff politely requested that remove toby from cool embrace of the, now most assuredly, new ac unit's refreshing breeze. they did not provide a reason, but i didn't need to ask, i knew what it would be. it's always the same, toby turning the heads of all the ladies who happen to gaze upon him. it's never long before a disgruntled boyfriend, husband, girlfriend or mother makes a complaint based on but never mentioned, their own sense of failure to understand the fundamentals needed to navigate the inequalities of life. i hope this helps.
