My late partner died because St Thomas' Hospital failed to perform a mandatory and crucial second troponin blood test after a suspected heart attack. He was given the all clear and released but only two days later, he collapsed and died in my arms at home. Had they performed the second test he would not have been discharged and should have been kept in the care of the cardiology ward where he would have had a chance for recovery. It was a lonely battle for me fighting the hospital trust for three years but finally Freeths took on my case and I was so relieved to have someone who was really fighting on my side. In their investigation they discovered that one doctor completely ignored the order for a second test and changed the prognosis of a suspected heart attack altogether to a lung issue.
