Frozen food - came out very quick! a bit too quick for my taste... it is humanely impossible to prepare an oven dish (even from frozen) and a grilled chicken breast with toppings and garnish, salad etc in 15 minutes!!!! chicken was nice, baked pasta dish (cannelloni) had nothing to do with the real italian dish, pasta was a bit hard, the sauce on top was tasty. house coleslaw has no taste at all! couldn't eat it. chocolate brownie with ice-cream: brownie was extremely sweet and not mosist enough!! 😰 the only taste you feel is sugar. the building feels wore down, windows to the terrace-front garden are extremely dirty with cobwebs. not possible to sit outside on a nice summer day in august because apparently it is only possible in the evenings 🤔😬👀 prices are close to a fine dining place, but the whole experience is very very far from that!!!
I went to the beefeater today , and it's improved massively , the food was hot fresh and tasted good . the man behind the bar was polite friendly and got everything bang on with our order. and we just all really enjoyed it .
Perfectly fine place to have a bite, maybe. i’d avoid the guinness though, because it’s rubbish. not surprised, but disappointed! tasted really metallic, more so than normal. vegan loaded fries were actually quite good! we didn’t get the breakfast so no comment there, but i imagine it’s a welcome relief for patrons of the nearby premier inn. we arrived and the whole place was pretty empty, but the staff still wouldn’t let us sit in the restaurant area (where there were faux fireplaces). bit of an odd rule
I enjoyed a wonderful value for money meal recently. although the steak wasn't as ordered it was good quality and came with the offer of bottomless chips. it was so good to see sean and the team again from whom i always receive the best service and welcome. one of my favourite places to go for an excellent breakfast too. always well worth the visit. thanks guys!👍🏿 24 july 2023 unfortunately the venue has severly suffered as a result of a lack of staff. it has badly effected the bar and dining service. this is such a shame as it's a really lovely venue that runs exceptionally well when in full and functioning mode. although moral has hit an all time low, i say well done to the staff who are trying their best in such dreadful circumstances. it's about time the whitbread company address this ongoing situation by respecting their hard working staff members and honouring the customers with the normally good experience we've come to expect and love.
