Mr G & his son renovated my armchair, a rare & unusual piece with a complex internal rocking mechanism. They figured out the function of the internal springs & hinges, replaced them as necessary & then fully upholstered. Also gave good advice on fabric manufacturers. I was confident that I was dealing with competent professionals who took care & pride in their work and am delighted with the final product. Their fee was eminently reasonable too.

Just received my chair back today. They took it apart and rebuilt it, fixed a leg I had managed to snap off, and reupholstered it (never buy antique chairs from eBay!). The chair now looks incredible, I am so happy with it. It doesn't crack, groan, or move when you sit on it, and the upholstery looks so good. They have definitely exceeded my expectations. Would highly recommend!

I was so impressed with Chairs of Oxford - a father and son, family business. Mr Gommersall, Senior and Junior both did such a wonderful job on my father's old chair from the 70's. If you look closely at the chair, the floral fabric has been placed so meticulously - the wings and arms of the chair mirror one another with regards to matching areas of the fabric. The same goes for the end of the arms - you can see that both show only the leaves and stems of the material whilst the front and seat feature the big blooms in the fabric - amazing detailed work! The back was matched with a high quality velvet selected from the materials available from Chairs of Oxford. Overall, the upholstery was beautifully done and could not have been done any better. A real professional job with excellent craftmanship - rarely found. I am so pleased that I chose Chairs of Oxford - the Mr Gommersalls, Senior and Junior, were a joy to meet and I would not hesitate to recommend them.
