Heidi Grute of Enable Law took what seemed to be a lawsuit fated to drag its heels endlessly and be handed from firm to firm with no forward motion and absolutely swung it around. Today the fruits of her labor have appeared in my bank account - and while money of course is the important signifier, the bigger reward to me is about culpability, that the "the big guys" are shown that they can't shirk responsibility, and that to me is everything - that is, after all, the original ideal of why law exists: to create fairness. Today I feel that a modicum of fairness and respect - and safety - in the workplace has been underlined, and I'm extremely grateful for that as we should all be because these things are etched importantly in the structures of our world. Although my accident and subsequent lawsuit started three and a half years ago it was not until Heidi and Enable Law being handed the reins in January of last year did I feel hope of any kind of positive result. To be honest, hearing the case had been passed to someone else yet again all I thought was "here we go again". But it was clear from the start that the reins were in the right hands. Heidi's focus, clearly acute knowledge, quiet determination and steadiness of approach as well as her terrific skills of communication were immediately apparent and I can not praise her enough in the cool, calm process she commanded in this journey. Thanks Heidi, and Enable Law by proxy, you give Law a good name and put trustworthiness and honor back into the mix. Well done.
