We always take a stroll to plymouth ho and the barbican harbour when i visit my daughter and granddaughters..... whatever the season whatever the weather. always on my to do list.
A site with a rich history, a must see if you're in plymouth! worth a 5 minute detour surely.
Lovely relaxing place to spend a few hours and take in a harbour boat trip.
Absolutely amazing to stand where 400 years ago a group of brave men, woman and children sailed away to pursue religious freedom in a new land
Great place to take pictures and read about the pilgrim's voyage. a huge misconception is that this is the place where they actually stepped down. this part of the harbor was not even built by 1620, the actual steps are across the barbican road on castle street between two buildings. and there's a black plaque on the side of the pilgrim's ice cream that commemorates all the pilgrims who set sail. that was where the edge of the harbor was back then. all that being said, it is a great memorial and amazing to see such history in one place.
