Push Recovery Community

A great community, supportive and non judgmental.

I used this service after leaving detox. I don’t know what it’s like now but when I went (2013-15) it was FANTASTIC! We had a great group of peers. I used to say Push was sprinkled with magic fairy dust as it was the best recovery service I’ve ever used. I literally loved it! I got super involved and was on their committee. Some people said it was cliquey but I didn’t feel that way. You get out of it what you put into it. Maybe I’m lucky as I get along with practically everyone and anyone but the people are very welcoming, helpful and friendly. It also gives you something (positive) to do (as addicts lives are normally taken over/driven by scoring drugs, using drugs or hustling for money for drugs) . You’ll also make new (non-using) friends which really helps as you can’t hang out with your using “friends” anymore or you will relapse. It’s not at all cult like, nor does it preach any religious beliefs (like NA does) . There’s courses to take if you want. There’s loads of activities and of course there’s groups you can go to if you want but nothing is mandatory. I can’t praise Push enough.
