Not visited Sondec for many years. What I can tell you, is that the bike Dereck built for me in 1993 is still in use today (2021). Admittedly it has had new 'bits' fitted in the intervening years.

had my bike serviced the other day, very knowledgeable fella. got job done quick at a decent price and bike rides great now. highly recommended.
