A shame that the old Ruskin Gallery window bars are almost invisible under the vegetation but otherwise brilliant, I loved the work by Rebekah Roslyn and the Rabone Chesterman knife and feeler gauges, also the cast flowers next door.

The Ruskin collection is only a fraction of what should be displayed. Very little of interest or towards his original mission. A terrible shame. The cutlery bit of the museum is stunning, extremely interactive, and has an excellent historiography. The gift shop is a treasure trove if you want to support the museums and find unique gifts. The whole place is very disabled accessible, had little trouble with my wheels or knocking into things.

Millennium Gallery is an arts and crafts museum in Sheffield that features permanent and temporary exhibitions, the former mostly devoted to the city's long and distinguished history on decorative and industrial silverware production. The temporary exhibit during my latest visit (February 2023) was a somewhat broadly defined collection of national and international paintings on the relationship between artists and the sea. Interesting enough, certainly in combination with the permanent collection and the adjacent Winter Gardens. Entry is free, photography is allowed. Just a five-minute walk from Sheffield Station, it's definitely worth a visit when you're in town.

Entered the Millennium Gallery through the Winter Garden. We managed to view three exhibitions before closing time. My favourite was the Sheffield metal works exhibition. It had a museum feel to it. I’ve attached a few pictures:

Nice exhibition of metal craftwork and paintings in the Millennium Gallery. Cutlery, cutting tools and shaving blades were the subject of metal crafts. More busy as compared to the Graves gallery opposite. This interested me more than paintings as I come from an innovative background. Nevertheless it is a good eye opener to all and worth a future visit. Also the gift shop has a big choice of souvenirs.
