John's Van

The comments left of 5 star have some truth, (culturally for what it provides the university students), however, beside the nostalgia students get the place is extortion. Prices are high for portion sizes that are mediocre. Wouldn’t recommend, go 3 minute walk down to west street and there’s a deli with cheaper prices and bigger portions. Students must enjoy it due to how convenient it is with it positioned like 2 minutes from the students union .

John's Van is an institution, a integral component of the University of Sheffield. Found outside the Hicks Building most week days, John sells sausage and bacon sandwiches with tea or coffee for extremely reasonable prices. The menu offers a wider range of food than these classics but there is usually a long queue in the mornings

Got a cheese and bacon burger from here. Not gonna lie it was one of the best burgers I've had in a while. Prices a little bit on the upper end but I think it's worth it for the quality. Would recommend

I personally used to like John’s van for the food he served. However, he is extremely rude and isn’t cordial at all. I couldn’t remember the pin code of my debit card. That is because there is a tap and pay service which is convenient. However, there might have been some technical error that needed me to insert my PIN number. I was searching for it while he commented extremely rudely and canceled my payment. He further commented on the fact that I was careless because I was on a call. This kind of behaviour is really not acceptable. I was highly embarrassed in front of my friends and all the others standing there.

Good food served with a smile:) Great value for money. Its cheap, its fast and its best. Try it !! guys words are less.
