This hotel has no air conditioning so beware! The hotel says it has air circulation but its far from adequate. There are better city centre hotels in Sheffield the this Novotel. Got NO sleep as the room was to hot. The response from the assistant manager was , well we have air circulation and you have chosen a city hotel, so this one is clearly not for you..... Overall package very poor. For business travellers as I am, I would strongly advise against staying here.

A world apart from what the building looks like from outside... very clean, modern with ambiance lighting. I was here on conference food and drinks were served by its kitchen. Lovely food and coffee that was just perfect, not too harsh nor it was weak nor it left bitter taste but full of flavour.

We booked the hotel for one night in July. The hotel is one of the only ones in the city centre that advertises parking. In reality the car park is tiny for the size of hotel, so most guests have to park next door and pay. Don't expect to be able to park! The hotel has a lovely but very small and very warm pool. There is a fair usage policy which protects it from getting overcrowded. It was very clean and well maintained. There is a bar which is spacious and well decorated. However unfortunately the night we were there, the hotel had a large function, and only one bar staff. This meant large queues and they ran out of most wine and some gins by about 10pm. We didn't eat dinner (a short walk round the corner there are some fab restaurants) but we got our kids pizzas at the hotel which were very nice. The restaurant served a good breakfast with lots of choice and hot food. There's a nice courtyard area at the back of the hotel which is a big plus for a city centre hotel. Next to this is a large indoor greenhouse structure with beautiful plants you can walk through. The city centre is right next to this with The Crucible within walking distance. The rooms were a huge disappointment. For a 4 star hotel, they were tired and poorly decorated (think late 90s decor). The bathroom was tiny and the bathroom sink had a horrible "drain" smell. The bed was uncomfortable, and the duvet very thin. There is *NO AIR CONDITIONING* despite saying there was, and there being a unit in the room, there was nothing coming out. This is clearly an ongoing issue as we found a large fan in the cupboard which we had to turn on and keep running all night. The windows do not open wide due to safety. However, the room had a big TV in it which was easy to use and had a good picture. There was a small fridge which had fresh milk sachets in it, with a good range of hot drinks available. Unfortunately, I had forgotten my toothpaste and asked at reception, they wanted to charge me £2.50 for a tiny tube, which felt a bit much. Check out was easy and straightforward. For a city centre hotel there are lots of plus points, but if you want a comfy bed in a room with air conditioning, there are plenty of other hotels in the city I'd go instead.

In general Novotel hotels are good and offer excellent amenities, but in the UK Novotel branches needs an extra 2 pounds for dental kit and so on, so beware to get such shock. I prefer to pay an extra 5 pounds including in hotel tariffs instead of experiencing such shock. It's really uncommon in other Accord hotels in different countries. Bed sheets, towels etc were replaced regularly but the room was not adequately clean and lacking best standard. Possibly thorough vacuum and steam cleaning of rooms and corridors carpets are needed. Breakfast was good, location was excellent, overall experience was positive. Deducting 1 star because of unsatisfactory cleaning in the room, and no dental kit, no bathing gown, no shaving kit, no moisturizer etc included in standard tariff.

Definitely, the best breakfast I've ever had, never seen so much variety like here. Safe place to go with pet, I paid £12 for him to stay with us and was beautiful. The bedroom size was perfect and the swimming pool very clean also, the location is fantastic and with parking ( cost £15 a night) but I was very happy to have the car in front of the Hotel. The customer service in the restaurant from Mia and Jade auto outstanding. We will see you soon
