I went to The Style Brow & Beauty yesterday on Winchester Street South Shields. I had the appointment booked to get infills as my usual eyelash lady is on holiday. When I walked in the women said ‘well we don’t usually do eyelash extensions but I can try’. Even though it says they do infront of the shop. From then on I was nervous, I should have walked out. She proceeded to apply the glue & lashes whilst on the phone with her other hand. She was finished within 5-10 minutes when my infills usually take an hour. The second I opened my eyes, it started stinging really bad. My whole eye was bright red & she started fanning my face to dry the glue whilst telling me it was normal. She proceeded to hit my face three times with the fan after apologizing. My eye was watering really bad, the stinging just got worse. And she told the women next to me I’m having a reaction, as soon as I blinked my eyes were stuck together. She then started pulling my eye apart, it felt like she was ripping skin. I also realised she put a completely different size lash on then the ones I asked for. I asked her to remove them, she said she can’t. I then started crying, she said ok but it will sting. She applied the remover and then waited two minutes, she started physically PULLING my lashes out. She kept saying ‘why are you crying’. I told her it was hurting & she then responded with ‘I told you removing will hurt’ and scoffed. When she told me they were removed she immediately walked away, I walked out of the shop sobbing. I realised she actually left multiple lashes on and clumps of glue. I went to the shop behind, Shields Brow & Beauty Bar, they removed the remaining lashes & glue for no charge and they were incredibly kind. They have experienced this many times where clients come in from The Style in tears, needing something fixed. I am disgusted with how I was treat, spoken too, and it is clear to me that they do not know how to do eyelash extensions. I wish I knew of their reputation before going.
