Lovely little museum and art gallery space. the gallery and one of the towers are free to enter, but there is a small entrance fee for the more historical / museum section. the presentation is well done by highlighting a few of the historical figures that were there at various times, both when it was a defensive bastion and when it was a prison. pleasant view from the top of the tower.
Very beautiful building but very average coffee shop on the ground level. it's a great art gallery space. recommend going for a quick look if you're in the area - it is free, which helps. oftentimes, they aren't open, so don't go out of your way to see it.
This review is for hannah, the ght venue manager, who willingly went above and beyond her role by opening up, staying behind after normal working hours, and showing huge kindness and patience for myself and 6 other weary pilgrims who had completed st james way camino ingles from reading, and we’re eager to collect their final pilgrim passport stamp and certificate before their end celebration meal at the duke of wellington pub, bugle street. heartfelt thanks hannah. you’re one in a million and pilgrims, ght and the southampton community are lucky to have you.
Excellent museum highlighting the history of the tower from the 13 hundreds to today. with stunning views from the roof up quite steep steps. the hall is used as a gallery of art's. nice little cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. very helpful staff. pay parking short walk. 27/5/23. update from my original review museum ect . all good . cafe unfortunately not to the same standard as when last reviewed the roasted vedg sandwich not available. the option beetroot sandwich very small .sausage roll half hot half cold ? and no salad with the dishes. and i don't remember the coffee cups being as small.
A great venue! we attended a comedy event as part of god's house tower latest, and also explored the exhibition on upstairs. the bar is good and they had a food truck outside.
