Holiday Inn Southampton, an IHG Hotel

This hotel was fine. It got the job done, the price was ideal and it was near the cruise port where we embarked the next day. The staff were friendly and we didn’t have a problem with checking in or checking out. We’d stay here again if needed, but it is nothing to rave about. We had a semi view of the water, but the parking lot took us away from the beauty. Free mini Kit Kat in the room was yummy.

Stayed over in the hotel for a local event, great city centre location just a short taxi ride from Southampton Central train station and right by the cruise terminals. One side over looking the Mayflower park, perfect for watching the fireworks across the city and bay. Local to the West Quay shopping centre as well as plenty of bars and restaurants in the area. The restaurant with the hotel is great too, food is pretty good and service was excellent. Rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. Definitely stay again while in town.

I booked 2 rooms for a one night stay. The rooms were small but clean and the staff were very helpful, Simmi and the breakfast team were super efficient, a member of our group wanted a fruit smoothie which was made and brought to the table quickly. Finding a parking spot for two cars was a challenge but we did eventually find 2 parking places. The hotel offered everything we needed for our short stay. The harbour view was lovely.

We stayed at the Holiday inn Southampton. The staff on reception were excellent very helpful and made checking in easy. The room we stayed in was clean and a good size for a family of four. We didn’t use the restaurant for evening meal so can’t comment there. The beds were comfortable, just a shame all hotels aren’t equipped air conditioning in rooms as it can be quite warm. Breakfast was as expected for self serve plenty of choice and of a good quality. One member of staff that deserves praise was Simmi she was excellent and she was fantastic with our two girls. Overall a very good stay and very happy to recommend. Thank you.

My husband and I spent a few days there. The rooms are set up more for business people than visitors to the area or to see family etc. There was very little storage, the lighting in the room was insufficient. The shower only had one shower head high up on the wall, so not practical. The staff were all very pleasant, friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfast bar was sufficient although some.morings the hot food buffet shut earlier than the allotted time. The evening meals were OK but the service was a little slow, though the staff were very pleasant and obliging when they attended our table. All in all we would use this brand of hotel, but only for a quick visit, there is no luxury.
