Meeting room for work by the company. busy car park. have to register with reception for parking. ev parking available. meeting room was in the 5th floor but the toilets are placed in the ground floor. key cards didn't work but was then rectified. no drink machines on the 5th floor conference rooms. don't think they have aircon as the fans in the rooms said they are not air-conditioned.
It ain't great! bedrooms seem a little dated and i don't remember going to a hotel where they have separate toilet and bathroom facilities...certainly not for a long time! talking of the bathroom, i am tallish and it feels really confined when showering as the bath seems raised and there is a reasonably low ceiling ..leaving me just a couple of inches above my head while showering, indeed, the shower holder doesn't even go high enough for a nice 'rain' type shower. what's with the coffee cups supplied? they seem unusually small compared to other hotels. carpet was stained and marked. main desk/table was damaged, small flat screen tv, general refurb required. service at reception was not particularly friendly or welcoming. car park spaces are tight but adequate although shared with the ibis. would i return? only if no other hotels available.
Used as an overnight stop. rooms were clean and modern with a powerful shower. we had an interconnecting room as requested. rooms were warm and opening the restricted windows helped with this but friends on the otherside of the corridor found it too noisy to do this. both bar and reception staff were very friendly, accommodating and quick in response. close to lots of amenities shop wise.
Good corporate style large hotel. the staff are friendly and helpful and there are plenty of them around. the room i had was good, clean and spacious. tv worked well. was pleased that windows could be opened slightly for fresh air as in many large hotels you can't. white wood chip walls in bathroom and toilet seemed a little dated/out of place. breakfast buffet was good, the only thing i didn't like was the marmalade - obviously the cheapest they could get, it was like a synthetic gooey substance that you extract from a container and it wasn't too nice, but that's a minor point. overall this is a decent hotel that lived up to expectations. there is a small swimming pool here and a fitness room which is a big attraction.
