I went in to Boots during a week day, without an appointment and in a bit of a state due to it being an emergency. They sat me down straight away to go through some initial details about myself and told me that I would be seen after the current appointment, which was fantastic! Overall I waited for about 10 minutes which, without an appointment, is something that doesn't normally happen. When I got in, the optician performed a variety of tests to diagnose what was wrong and did so in a friendly, reassuring and thorough fashion. She told me the problem and a temporary solution and that another member or staff was on hold to the hospital about booking an appointment for me which would sort me out in the long term. Whilst I waited on hold to the hospital (which was about 45 minutes) she even had time to run some further eye tests. Once everything was sorted I went home - only to receive a phone call from Boots saying they had some paperwork that I needed for my emergency appointment at the hospital the next day. I offered to come back and get it, but they refused and said that they would deliver it themselves, which was fantastic and completely above and beyond their duty. I can't thank the staff enough for their wonderful service and would strongly recommend using their friendly and helpful staff.
