The White Star Tavern, Southampton

Stayed at this historical hotel for one night whilst visiting the Southampton Boat Show. Very quiet and comfortable rooms, appreciated the fridge with a complimentary water, beer and pint of milk for making tea and coffee. Friendly staff and good breakfast choices. Would stay again.

I'm glad that I found this place to spend a night before going on a cruise. It is a short ride from the port. The complimentary breakfast was lovely. Everything in the room is complimentary, so if I had wanted to help myself to that beer in the fridge I would have. I did eat the chocolates. The room was very nice. Not a great view, but I didn't come here for that. They did have a lovely big bathroom with a great shower! Bed was comfortable. I would stay here again!

What a great place to stay. The manager is so sweet and funny. The rooms are very nicely decorated and they are close to lots of restaurants. If you are interested in Titanic history, it is a good place to stay. When they say that the stairs are not made for dragging big heavy luggage up, believe them. But don't let it deter you from staying here. Just plan ahead with a smaller bag to take to your room and let them store your larger suitcase.

We had a great stay! The rooms and the pub were very clean, the breakfast was very tasty and the friendliness of the staff were by far the best service we have ever received. We really noticed how the entire staff is interested in the guest's well-being. Even the boss herself was active in the operation of the hotel. Very sad that we only stayed for one night. But if we come to Southampton again, this is the place where we will come back anytime.

Great location, especially if you love a pub and excellent food! This portion of Oxford street is blocked from cars entering. There is not a lift to the rooms above the White Star Tavern but Reese was a dear and carried my luggage up for me. Very sweet and helpful young man. The room was spacious, clean and had a mini fridge. The en suite bathroom was very roomy as well. Breakfast was included and soooo delicious. All the folks working here were phenomenal. Friendly, helpful and very hard working. All on all, I would highly recommend the White Star Tavern, if not for the night then at least for a pint!
