Absolutely an amazing place, i would probably not be alive today. the quality of the therapists is second to none. the care is amazing and i felt safe, secure and helped with my road to recovery. if you are looking for a place to get well and recover and help keep on track this is the place.
My experience at the manor clinic was a 100% positive in every aspect. the therapists jacqui and sarina have a wealth of experience, compliment each other perfectly and genuinely care about your recovery. the nurses and careers are excellent and most have been with the manor along time. they obviously enjoy their jobs and this comes out in the way they care for their patients. a special mention to di the chef her food and smile lights up every day. it is not inexpensive but i believe you get what you pay for, in my opinion this is one of the best addiction clinics in the country. this clinic has helped me to take the first few difficult steps to turning my life around, thank you.
Excellent and incredibly caring staff, from every hcas, administration staff, nurses, housekeeping, chefs, volunteers and in particular the handy/grounds man who was a joy to speak to. in fact everyone i met. apologies if i have left anyone out! the doctors especially the dr who admitted me and dr kelly are incredible. a very caring, non judgemental and supportive environment. i was treated as an individual with my own needs met to a high standard. could not have made a better decision for myself and my own needs. onwards and upwards.
The 28 days i spent at the manor clinic transformed my life. just over two years ago, i finally accepted that i desperately needed help to tackle my addiction. having made the decision, i was then faced with choosing a treatment centre . some sounded too much like a bootcamp with dormitory living etc. i appreciate that this regime would suit some addicts, but i needed somewhere smaller with the privacy and space of my own room. from my very first contact with the manor, i knew i had found the right place for me and i signed up without hesitation. the staff were exceptional: compassionate, supportive, knowledgeable and understanding. all the therapists were very experienced and always willing to talk to us individually outside the group sessions. yes, there were some tough messages, but i needed to hear them. the days were very structured and we were expected to work hard on our recovery. since leaving the clinic, i have benefitted enormously from the life long aftercare. if i have any concerns about my recovery, or i just want to chat, i can ring the clinic 24/7 for support. the wednesday aftercare meetings are also a great chance to catch up with others and learn from our different experiences. there is similar ongoing support for family and friends who have been affected by our addiction. i arrived at the clinic defeated and full of fear; a month later i left with hope, optimism and new-found confidence. over two years later, i am enjoying my life as a sober, recovering addict, thanks to the manor clinic.
My partner was a patient at the manor clinic two years ago and thanks to the excellent treatment and care has remained in recovery. i cannot praise the manor highly enough, they have enabled us to get our life and relationship back. the family support which is ongoing for a lifetime is very reassuring when you have been to hell living with an addict. angie who leads the family therapy is skilled, says what needs to be said and is hugely compassionate. on our initial visit to the manor any fears were allayed by the amazing staff. i was able to ring everyday to see how my partner was progressing and the family support sessions were informative and helped me understand that i could not solve the addiction issues for my partner as well as guiding me on the future when my partner left the manor. the manor continues to offer support to me two years on. remaining in recovery as an addict and recovering as a partner or family member is hard work but the rewards are worth it. who wants to keep living with the horrors of addiction? some of the reviews i have read criticising the manor make me very sad, it’s not a spa break, it’s a treatment centre. they are unfair and i pity the family members of the addict as they have failed to face up to the fact that addiction is a serious illness which impacts upon partners and family members and causes terrible hurt and disruption.
