Stayed here on my birthday for one night in september. decent enough room with a good view but surprised there were not more upmarket individual toiletries befitting of a 5 star hotel. instead, the body wash etc was dispensed via containers which are usually found in far less expensive hotels. also felt that the significant price charged should have included breakfast. my biggest gripe, however, was that we ordered a bottle of wine in the har bar at around 10.20pm. whilst trying to enjoy a final birthday drink, and well before the usual 11pm bar closing time, the staff began to de-dress the ceiling of all the summer decor in order to get it ready for the autumn season. as such, we were surrounded by staff and stepladders, making our time in the bar rather unpleasant. although the staff were courteous, bearing in mind the significant price paid for a special occasion, this task should have been undertaken once the bar had closed well after 11pm. my partner emailed the hotel over a week ago to make our displeasure known but we have not received a response to date.
Wonderful experience. and i am a fussy traveller! checkin was busy but the team handled it with smiles and efficiency! i stayed in a beautiful studio with double balcony - lots of space, wonderful views. the food was delicious and beautifully presented. especially at breakfast when i was fussy about how i wanted it - it was perfection. i enjoyed a relaxing hour in the spa which is included in the room rate and definitely worth a visit. it was a brief stay to recharge and relax. and i’ll definitely be back. big congrats to you and your team. great job.
Stayed here 1 night before our anniversary cruise. got upgraded to a suite free of charge. restaurant was excellent as was the transfer to an from the cruise terminal. we rang the hotel for the transfer back and the executive mini bus was there on 5 minutes. would definitely recommend if your cruising.
We had a one night stay here before going on a cruise. the reception area is bright, clean and spacious. we did struggle with the key card which did not appear to work to access the corridor our room was on. the room was pleasant. not overly big but the bathroom was lovely with a huge shower. we had a great view overlooking the harbour. we had free transfers to the cruise terminal and our only hiccup was being taken to the wrong ship and having to walk in the heat to the correct one.
My husband and i went to the hotel recently to meet friends for coffee. very pleasant, though the coffee could have been hotter. we stayed for lunch which was delicious. the staff were obliging and friendly. the hotel was very clean and tidy and the doors open to a patio as it was a pleasant day. we returned in the evening for dinner with family. the meal was again delicious. we have jot stayed sr the hotel overnight so cannot vouch for the bedrooms. however i would stay there if we returned to southampton.
