Old Winchester Hill

Good view from the top. Nice walkway. 3800 years old bronze age settlement found on the site

This is a beautiful Iron Age hill fort that is now a national nature reserve, and it is a great area to bring the family to enjoy the beautiful views from the top. It has come a long way from being a mortar testing range for the British Army back in WW2.

Really nice views and a relatively easy hike. We were on a hike from Meonstoke to West Meon and this was a delightful little hill well worth the slight detour. Really expansive views and pretty woods to the south and to the west.
