Had the funghi pasta dish - on menu said fusilli but pasta served was penne; aside from that, food was tasty and hot, and service was fine; atmosphere was lacking but it was a takeaway so wasn't a problem; I would get food from here again

I am utterly disappointed with the recent experience I had at Italian Express, a pizza shop I have been a loyal customer of for the past 6 years. I hosted a gathering with friends and family and decided to place an order for food. Little did I know that this decision would lead to a series of frustrating events that left me both irritated and dissatisfied. Upon placing my order, I received a call informing me that one of the pizzas I had ordered couldn’t be fulfilled, despite having already paid for it. The only choice given to me was to either accept this incomplete order or cancel it altogether. The staff member handling my call displayed a shocking level of rudeness and disinterest. Subsequently, I was told that the delivery driver would arrive within 10 minutes. After waiting for 20 minutes without any sign of the food, I called back to inquire about the delay. The same unhelpful staff member informed me that I would just have to wait or cancel the order, which I found to be an extreme response. Upon speaking to the staff member for the second time, I realized that I was only being sent two pizzas instead of the four I had ordered. When I tried to address this mistake, the staff member abruptly hung up on me. After calling back, he proceeded to shout at me, making derogatory comments about my English comprehension, and even suggesting that I visit the shop if I had a problem – all in an aggressive manner. Despite my attempts to resolve the situation, I never received the missing food. The manager, who also happens to be the new owner, eventually contacted me. He promised to send a link from Food Hub for me to claim a refund since I had not received my complete order. However, even after 24 hours, I am yet to receive this link. As a result, I am now forced to initiate a refund request through my bank. It’s disheartening to recount such a distressing experience, especially after being a loyal customer for so long. I hope my feedback will prompt Italian Express to address the glaring issues with their service and customer support. This ordeal has left me deeply unsatisfied and inconvenienced, and I hope no other customer has to endure such a disappointing encounter.
