Halfords Autocentre York (Layerthorpe)

I called halfords layerthorpe this morning at 8am, hoping they could fit me in on a Saturday at short notice as my check engine light came on yesterday afternoon. Eric dealt with me on the phone and at the shop and was lovely, and the receipt says Peter worked on the car and was great too, both seemed really knowledgable and like they knew what they were doing. They managed to fit me in and get the car fixed before lunch which was amazing, especially given its a mk1 seat leon so I assumed it could be a pain given its age. It needed new glow plugs, and they found it needed a new ball joint after I mentioned it was creaking so those were replaced, they also conducted a free brake check and put in a new reverse light for me as mine had gone :) they do offer payment plans, I was lucky enough to be able to pay in full but that's definitely a plus for emergency or expensive work that's unexpected. 100% recommend and I'll be using them going foward. Thanks guys!

I want to say a huge thank you to the lovely lady who works on reception and also the rest of the team. My engine light came on a few hours before I needed to drive a long distance for something very important. They told me to bring it in immediately and checked it out, all sorted and drama over within half an hour. Couldn't believe how accommodating and kind they were. Very lucky to have this as my local garage, would highly recommend them.

Eric and staff went above and beyond to repair my car, explaining faults, suggesting action and keeping me informed sometimes twice daily on progress. I cannot thank them enough for all their care and attention

I had no idea about this place but in desperation for a tyre repair I called the shop as everywhere else seemed to be booked up. The customer service was brilliant. The young lady on the desk was really switched on and helped me figure out what the issue was with my tyre. The technicians were quick and solved the problem for me so I could get back on the road. Thank you so much to the team, a great service that I will certainly use again.
