Yorkshire Museum

A must visit, displays are changed frequently so multi visits needed to appreciate the work that the museum does. The history of Roman occupation of York and artifacts found must be seen to be believed, on this visit .

Very interesting Museum. It is set on a hill, with a beautiful garden around it.

It loses its fifth star because of the admission price (£9.50). But it is a very good history museum. The roman and anglo-saxon rooms are magnificent. Walk-on (barefoot) roman mosaic.

I was looking forward to seeing the hordes and wasn't disappointed. Plenty of signs described the exhibits. Staff were great. So much to see, much bigger than expected. History came alive. Would definitely go back.

Excellent museum with lots of sensory experiences - you can touch things, make crayon rubbings, and build things. They also have a sensory tent for children who need a break. My favourite part was the giant dinosaur skeleton and the fabulous student animations explaining the unusual treasure hoard on display, they were very creative and got me thinking!
