Dropped in here for a bite to eat and a cuppa while walking along the riverside. a few tables with views of the river, this was a pretty relaxing place to spend an hour watching the boats and people go by. surprised that its opening time was only to 4pm on a lovely sunny, busy day. beer was reasonably priced and the tables were being cleared and cleaned regularly. only a few minutes walk from the railway station and city centre. worth stopping at.
A very important pleasant lunch today! we sat by the heater and it was toasty warm. the service was prompt and the coffees/food arrived quickly! the staff were friendly and looking forward to coming again! there’s no toilet by the way, so we walked to the train station for a comfort break!
Perfect place to stop for a coffee before continuing through the walled city. peacock themed, immersed in history check out the dungeon below
Drizzly day , so the first floor tables were full. headed to the ground floor , which unfortunately seemed to be also used as a bit of a storeroom with boxes cans, brollies and cushions piled up next to the door. shame as the rest of the room looked nice , took away from the ambience a bit. store cupboard would have been a solution ? nice coffee and cake though.
Super little place right on the river. food was excellent. i had a scone, my friend had a bacon sandwich, both lovely. value for money was about right for the centre of a tourist city. we were cycling today & would definitely stop here again.
