Travelodge York Central

Situated right next to the River Fosse and behind Clifford’s Tower and the York Castle Museum and within walking distance of The Shambles as well as the Minster the hotel is very nice indeed. Rooms are what you would expect from a hotel chain of their size. Well maintained and well clean. Ample size for anyone wishing to stay. The staff are very friendly and very helpful indeed.

Friendly, clean good location. Rooms are very basic (1 towel each, no fridge, etc) but we were not there to sit in our room. As a tourist, it was a good base to see York. Not right in the centre, but easily close enough to walk anywhere. The Wetherspoons adjoining is super convenient although busy late night. Not a real problem. I would go back.

Affordable accommodation in a central location. The room was clean, comfortable and equipped with everything we needed for our one night stay. Erin on reception was friendly and welcoming upon arrival. The greatest detractor was Weatherspoons next door. On a warmer night when I would have liked the window open the noisy drunkards cheering, shouting and screaming from the pub below is very, very disturbing. Closing the window helped with the noise a little but not entirely and of course meant discomfort because of the temperature instead. Consider this carefully when booking, especially if you have young ones. A fan was available in the room to help with the warmth.
