Fishergate Postern Tower

Was lucky to stumble in here, beautiful portrait of an age long gone, stunning roof!

This historic tower only opens to the public on certain days. Volunteer ran. We took our 7 year old as he's studying the Tudors at school.

Open 10 days per year... Next opportunity is late Oct... wonderful live lute playing songs to match the period. On site archeological dig uncovered artifacts dating back 500 years

Really enjoyed our visit. The staff were really helpful & knowledgeable. There are 3 levels up a steep narrow staircase with rope handle to assist. Great views from the top.

We took a walk around the city walls and we were not expecting this to be open. We were greated by a very cheerful chap outside that took us in. He knew all the history of the building and surrounding areas. Very interesting. All the floors have lots of history shown and the volunteers there are a very knowledgeable and friendly.
