Fish and Forest

Each meal was delicious and packed with so much flavour. we chose fish and forest to celebrate a birthday and we are so happy we did, the staff are very friendly and know the menu so well.

We had an amazing dinner here tonight. seafood was perfectly cooked, sauces were delicious, and service was terrific. we thoroughly enjoyed each and every dish. would definitely return when visiting york again.

Enjoyed a wonderful meal here for my wife's birthday. the small but perfect menu had us savouring every option and wavering with indecision, much to the team's amusement. we could not have been happier with the delicious food, delivered with fantastic, friendly, and professional service. the bonus prosecco for my wife's birthday was a lovely and unexpected touch as well. thanks guys, we will be back!

Really delicious food beautifully cooked. it’s a small menu but a good choice for meat lovers and fish. there is a vegan option if you love your veg! service was excellent my only wish is for more comfortable seating.

Lovely meal, great staff. plenty of information about the food. we had oysters to start, then a venison and a scallop starter, all were excellent but the scallops were is a corn soup which was amazing. for mains i had the halibut in a bread and butter sauce with basil oil. my parter had venison. these were both very good but the halibut was particularly great. nice bottle of rose. all came to around £140 plus tip. looks they update their menu very regularly. would happily go back.
