First visit last night. very busy with races crowd, but as we’d booked we were seated immediately. the idea of the place is there is a hot and cold buffet area self-service, and a hot meats service with various cuts and types brought table to table on large skewers. whether they stop and offer you any depends on whether you display a red (for no thanks) or a green card (yes please). obviously going by the reviews most love the idea and the place, but it wasn’t for me. an incredible feeling of being rushed with often the red card system being ignored and your conversation being halted by being offered meat you didn’t want. the meats themselves i found incredibly salty at times, but very tasty overall. as i said, i just don’t like the concept. i would prefer to pick (you are asked but it makes no difference that i saw) how you want your meat served to you and in courses stages. it just felt like some huge, noisy school dining room. most of the staff were polite and friendly. most…as our particular server was not particularly helpful or friendly. just not for me, i’m afraid.
Great place really friendly staff, food was awesome amazing choice on the side/salad bar and the meat is awesome and plentiful (had to pop the red card over a couple of times to catch up, only minor quibble was the bacon was very salty.
Wonderful experience, fantastic service, and amazingly gluten free. the salad bar did have a lot of gluten products close to the none gluten free options, except for the sauces, which were delicious, and the potatos. all the meats are gluten free, too. they even have a few gluten free desserts if you have space. the decor is beautiful and spacious, lovely cuban music keeping the place lovely, bright with big windows. everything was clean and presentable the food was medium to rare, which was delicious, beautifully seasoned and always a steady stream of things to try. the pineapple roasted with cinnamon sugar coated on top was amazing. perfect with the gammon. the servers were wonderful. there were technical issues going on but they never stopped being attentive, with lots of banter and good humour. will definitely go again, especially since it's right next to the travelodge and the parking
I recently had the distinct privilege of sampling casa rodizio's forthcoming fish experience, and it was nothing short of outstanding. this is a multi-course culinary journey for two. it starts with a refreshing mixed fish starter, elegantly followed by mussels that prepare your palate for the pièce de résistance: a mixed fish platter brimming with calamari, tuna, salmon, king prawns, and so much more. this is where i tapped out! while the finale boasts a whole fish to share, i was too full to try. casa rodizio is poised to establish as york's premier fish dining experience. already renowned for their impeccable meats, they're now poised to conquer the seafood domain. their ace in the hole? a michelin-starred chef hailing from italy. trust me when i say casa rodizio is about to make some serious waves in the culinary world. keep your eyes peeled for their new menu coming soon, and if you're in york, i recommend you pop by. this is no ordinary steakhouse! service, drinks and food were all excellent.
Don’t get me wrong, this place is a absolute banger!! it’s cute, lively and the food was good (most of them). the missing star is to advise that people who want to come here, really need to know how intense the meat 🥩 serving is, they comes to your table to serve meat every 10 minutes or so until you called stop. and some of the meats were way too salty, maybe it’s the day of cooking was off. the overall experience was great though. staff were nice and fun. some of the cuts were to die for. and the place is clean. would recommend for absolute meat eaters!
