Premier Inn Caerphilly Crossways hotel

We had the last room which was an accessible one. Clean but tierd. Receptionist was very welcoming and friendly

We were in the extra rooms away from reception. Overall, it is fairly clean, although the side table leg frame was dusty and skirting in the bathroom by the door needs a like of paint.

Rooms are not very clean, cold water is warm, toilet seat didn't fit the toilet. Staff on reception were very nice. The pub next door has poor service and meals are very disappointing and expensive, I wouldn't stay there again.

Firstly, a comfortable bed and a decent shower as per a traditional Premier Inn, so no major complaints. Check-in was made slightly more complicated than it need be when arriving as we had two rooms booked. The room itself was very tired and needed a bit of TLC. The room was an old style one lightly converted with a large TV. This TV didn’t work overly well as it kept flashing black on the screen. It may’ve had something to do with the huge layer of dust around the back of it! There was only one plug by the side of the bed which, in this modern day is less convenient. One beside table was broken and nailed together as a fix. The window seals were all cracked leaving a leak of both air and sound. Thankfully, the other window blocked most of it. Unfortunately all other sound from the corridor and room above were not muffled at all!! The light on the table was missing an on switch so wouldn’t work and the shower curtain rail was half falling off the wall!! Breakfast was mixed too. Cooked breakfast was a buffet and was well stocked and hot. The continental part was poorly stocked and we had to ask for a lot of things. The cakes and pastries were clearly cheap mass produced items, especially the American pancakes which were paper thin yet tough as old boots!! The coffee machine was broken so could only have the same sachet coffee they give in the room. Convenient for a cheaper alternative to a hotel in the centre of Cardiff being around 20min or so out from the capital.

Premier Inn is pretty much the same layout wherever you go but the lady on Reception was the most helpful, kindest ever. She was amazing and our room was spotlessly clean including the ensuite (the shower was gorgeous - clean, hot water and a decent spray head). I would stay here again.
