Very interesting, trying to think why anyone would live up here especially when Blackpools only an hour away on the train. Maybe they didn't have a good wifi connection in the Neolithic period. Joking of course. Amazed something like this is on our doorstep. Not sure when they were discovered, worth a look if your up here.😉

Been up years ago and they had carved stones, now they're gone and the big stones are laid down in the middle. Also there's beer cans a cigarette butts everywhere. Not great. The sign has also been destroyed. Kids by looks of it, another historic place destroyed...

It's was a nice walk up to the Pike Stones which are believed to be from the Neolithic era.

Brilliant place to go walking . Pike Stones has got lots of walking trails to explore with some amazing views over to anglesarke and Rivington. Some of the paths are a bit boggy so good walking shoes are needed. There is a monument in the woods dedicated to some aircraft pilots that crashed there during the 2nd World War. There are lots of streams to look at and plenty of places to stop and have your packed lunch. I would definitely recommend people going to this place for a day out.

Its not well known ,a bit of the beaten track but brilliant walk , history, stunning views you can see why our neolithic ancestors would want to have been buried there, and a waterfall
