As a second year photography student, we hosted an exhibition here for a week. It was facilitated by an exceptional staff member, clear communication and friendly service. All in all it was great.

Whilst walking past this gallery a lady working for the gallery threw a bucket of water out of the gallery door to clear away vomit on the pavement. I was splashed by this same water and vomit - the lady walked into the shop and shrugged when I look at her through the window. I then went into the gallery after popping to buy a book elsewhere. Only when I stated to staff in the gallery that they had, minutes earlier, splashed me with vomit, was I told ‘it’s difficult to manage when other people are using the pavement’. No apologies after covering me with vomit. I was then told to have a good day. (Which I did - have a good day - because I’m well ahead on chores at my allotment and made a great cup of tea, but I digress! :-) ) From what I saw the art was pleasant but the attitudes of employees was truly disgusting and surreal. I’d have been happier if they told me I was caught up in a performance art piece. Many better galleries with more to offer in Nottingham - choose those, I’ve always had great service elsewhere. EDIT: owner response below is accurate illustration of how I was treated in the gallery itself. An explanation as to why they splashed me with vomit and no apology. Accidents happen that’s fine - but it’s how we treat people afterwards that matters.
