Nottingham Bikeworks - Sneinton

Bought a bike from Nottingham Bikeworks today and really happy with it. A great bike, excellently refurbished and for a reasonable price. Mainly wanted to leave a review because of Kevin's service, he was really informative and went out of his way to give me lots of useful information and tips as a novice cycler, and then made sure the bike was definitely in top notch condition and all set up before letting me go away. I would definitely recommend going here to purchase a bike or for servicing or bike accessories, I will be going back myself.

The guys were all so helpful. Have been to both Ayr Street and Trent Boulevard. They sorted out my bike when others have failed. Thank you.

There are two sides to this bike shop. The good side is the staff are absolutely friendly and welcoming. Services are all done professionally and prices are fair and justified. They also answered a lot of my questions regarding bike maintenance and knowledge. Communication is also great regarding service pickups. They also operate in a good cause of benefiting the Nottingham community. The bad side is the man in the high castle (the owner). Communication is often poor or lackluster. Services are subpar with fees charged without reasoning. Often tries to exploit people such as students who lacks bicycle knowledge or knowledge about bike industry and bike prices. I cannot stress enough how poor communication has been. Has history of leaving clients' properties in a public area without notification or security, in such case such properties could be stolen. But at the end, he/she probably does not care as long as the dough is in his/her back pocket. Summarizing this, great bike shop but management will be a massive let down.

Took my bike for a much-needed service and was done at a great price. However, the gears haven't been right since and the chain kept slipping off which had never happened before. Took it back and they happily had a look and adjusted things but this didn't help and a week later the break cable snapped. Bit dissappinted as they are super friendly and reasonably-priced but clearly something was wrong with my gears they didn't fix. Have taken it somewhere else since.

Cant praise this place enough. They have done several bikes for me and I've never had any problems with them. I also really appreciate that when i took them a vintage bike to work on they were honest and said "this isnt something we can help with" i'd much rather get an honest answer than someone try and fail to properly sort it. Also on my latest service they quoted me for a major service but then when the bike was apart realised that it didnt need this so only charged me for the cheaper service. Super work and super honest,
