I can highly recommend working for Right at Home Nottingham. This was my first experience of being a caregiver in the community and I really feel very fortunate that I found this company. I have now been here about 3 months and have been very impressed at every stage from recruitment, to training and induction and then to supporting me in the role of caregiver in the community. My experience has been of a management team that are genuinely concerned about the work they do and that it would meet the needs of clients and are committed to the employment of caregivers that would support this vision. Theirs is a person-centred, holistic approach to community support of their clients, which I feel really is what happens on the ground. There are so many extra touches that I just don't think are standard practice in this sector, for example, extensive shadowing during induction and ensuring that caregivers are introduced to clients prior to starting to work with them, of benefit to clients and caregivers. This enables the chance to develop working relationships with clients where they feel comfortable with and trust their caregivers, rather than an atmosphere where this is just job and a visit would be a matter of performing required tasks. I thoroughly enjoy working with my clients and enjoy the variety of working with different people regularly. As an employee, I feel genuinely listened to, supported, valued and validated in my role as a caregiver and that this is ongoing. The office team are very responsive to questions or concerns and have been very accommodating with requests around leave or my working schedule. I feel treated like a valued member of the team. The induction and subsequent training has been very thorough and as a result, I have felt confident in my role. There is also the opportunity here to develop professionally with the company working to improve and innovate in what they provide. If you are considering doing community care work and have an idea of what that involves (in terms of time commitment, salary, what is expected in the role, etc.), I would highly recommend contacting Right at Home. Additionally, if I ever needed community care support for a family member of friend, I'd hope to find a company that provided the level of care and support that Right at Home Nottingham do.

I worked at Right at Home for 6 months as a CareGiver in 2016-2017. I joined the team after leaving a different company where I felt I hadn’t been given adequate training to do my role. I really appreciated the in depth training I received at Right at Home and how they encouraged me to shadow for as long as I needed until I felt confident to work on my own. I felt supported and valued by the management team throughout my time working for them. Additionally, what I admire most about the team, is how they always put the service user at the heart of everything they do and really do go above and beyond for them. I would definitely recommend Right at Home as both an employer and a care provider.
